Review Post: Everlane Straight Leg Crop

What Kelley Likes Everlane Straight Leg Crop Review

Pants are just so interesting right now. Cropped cuts, wide fits, high waists, delicate details…I could write letters about my love affair with pants this fall.

These new Straight Leg Crop pants from Everlane are no exception to my infatuation.

I’ve wanted to order from Everlane for a while now. I actually placed an order for a pair of wide leg crops a few months ago, but received a strange message a few days later telling me that my order had been cancelled and the color pant I had ordered is no longer in stock, either.

They gave me a credit to use for my next purchase and refunded me, but I was annoyed none the less. So I put off reordering for a while.

Then one day I decided I had punished myself long enough, and 10 days later my pants arrived. I tore the plastic open and slide the golden-brown fabric over my legs.

After wearing them for a few days, I put together my thoughts below. But in full disclosure, I’m a body in fluctuation. I recently lost 60 pounds following the keto diet, and I’m continuing to lose – I’m still get to know my new body for sure.

FIT:

I was worried about how narrow the leg would be, and concerned and it looking like a skinny jean on my wider calves. Well I worried for nothing because the Everlane Straight Leg Crop fits my #thicc calves perfectly. The fit is loose, but structured, and I noticed it really nipped and tucked me exactly where I needed it (waist, gut, bum). Perfection.

The one thing I wish I could change is the length. I ordered the normal length and regret it – I have short legs, I should have known better. Ah well, off to the tailor they go…

SIZING:

I ordered a size 10, one size down from my usual pant size. I read somewhere that the Everlane Wide Leg Crop stretches out and runs about a size too large – so, I sized down for that reason, and because I figured even if they don’t fit now they’d be amazing incentive to keep keto.

Great news! They fit!

They’re just tight enough around the waist to hold me in, but not tight enough to sacrifice comfort. And I’m happy to report that after wearing them three days in a row (don’t judge me), the fabric did not stretch out. This is fabulous news for lazy girls like me who wait multiple wears to wash their pants.

COLOR:

I got the Straight Leg Crop in Gold Brown, and I’m puuuuupmed about it. The color is so unique and eye-catching, without being too impractical. It’s perfect for fall.

COMFORT:

Admittedly, I ate too much dim sum in these pants and had to take them off the second I walked in the door to my apartment. This, however, is not the pants’ fault.

Other than the above, the Everlane Straight Leg Crop was like a second skin. I was comfortable and chic and I can’t complain about that.

BOTTOM LINE:

I love wearing these pants almost as much as I love how I look in these pants. The Everlane Straight Leg Crop will be a staple for me this season.
